Youth Congress seeks CEC’s resignation

September 30, 2026

Mysuru: Youth Congress activists staged a protest at Ramaswamy Circle yesterday, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Jnanesh Kumar over allegations of manipulation of electoral rolls. The protesters accused him of acting as an “agent of the RSS and BJP,” misusing the Election Commission and undermining democracy. They demanded his immediate arrest and initiation of legal action.

District Youth Congress President Chandan Gowda alleged that despite 14 written objections raised by two fellow Election Commissioners against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, the CEC ignored them and took unilateral decisions, resulting in the deletion of voter names.

KPCC Spokesperson M. Lakshmana, Gen. Secretary Najma Nazir and several others participated in the protest.
