Youth drowns in Kabini backwaters

H.D. Kote: A 28-year-old youth, who had gone for a swim in Kabini backwaters, has been drowned.

The deceased youth is Madeva, son of Ningaraju and a resident of N. Begur in the taluk.

Madeva, along with his friends Prabhakar, Basavaraja and Hanumantha, went for a swim on Monday afternoon to Kabini backwaters near a resort close to the village, when Madeva drowned following which, the three friends informed Beechanahalli Police.

Sub-Inspector Ramachandra Nayaka and staff, who rushed to the spot along with Fire and Emergency Services personnel, launched a hunt to trace the body of Madeva and the body was fished out in the evening.

The body was shifted to the General Hospital, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the deceased’s family members. 

No complaint has been filed in this regard.
