Mysore/Mysuru: In a continued drive against wheeling menace, Udayagiri Police have arrested a youth doing the stunt on a motorcycle bearing fake number plate and seized the vehicle.

Arbaaz Ahmed, aged 19 years and a resident of Shantinagar, is the accused. He had performed wheeling from Yasin Masjid Junction to Pushpashrama Junction on a motorcycle with a number plate (KA-51 HK-634), on Outer Ring Road (ORR), on July 7 between 3 pm and 3.30 pm.

Acting on the video of wheeling act uploaded on a social media on July 21, Siddarthanagar Traffic Police had seized the motorcycle.

When the engine and chassis numbers were verified, the actual registration number of the vehicle was found to be KA-55 W-7193.

The Inspector of Siddarthanagar Traffic Police Station D. Yogesh handed over both Ahmed and the vehicle to the custody of Udayagiri Police, along with a complaint that ‘the accused has used the fake number plate to cheat or commit any offence.’

Udayagiri Police arrested Ahmed and registered a case under IPC Sections 279, 420 and 482.
