The accused possessed fake ID
Mysuru, June 5 – A youth who was impersonating as a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE/ TT) was nabbed by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Bengaluru–Shivamogga Town Jan Shatabdi Express train. He was handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) for further action.
The impersonator has been identified as M.K. Rakibuddin of Shivamogga district.
Details: On June 2 at about 5.30 pm, J. Yashwant, Deputy CTI/SL/Bengaluru Base, Mysuru, lodged a written complaint at GRP Police Station, Arsikere, stating that while he was on ticket-checking duty in Train No. 12089 KSR Bengaluru–Shivamogga Town Jan Shatabdi Express on June 1, he found a passenger in Coach C-1 claiming to be a TTE.
Upon verification, the passenger produced an image of the identity card in his mobile phone. During enquiry, he identified himself as 26-year-old M.K. Rakibuddin, son of Qutubuddin and a resident of Shivamogga District.
Further enquiry revealed that he was neither a Railway employee nor an authorised TTE. He is said to have confessed to boarding the train with the intention of collecting money from passengers by falsely posing as a Railway Ticket Examiner.
The accused was produced before RPSI/GRP/Arsikere by on-duty TTE, following which a case was registered and investigation taken up.
Mobile phone returned
In an action under Operation Amanat, RPF Mysuru, has successfully traced and returned a misplaced mobile phone to its rightful owner.
On June 2, a Rail Madad complaint was received from a passenger, who reported of misplacing his VIVO V23 mobile phone, while travelling in Coach B-1, Berth No. 49 of Train No. 16591 Express from Guntakal to Mandya.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, RPF Mysuru Constable Rajendra Kumar, inspected the train upon its arrival and recovered the misplaced mobile phone and brought it to the RPF Post, Mysuru, for safe custody.
RPF Sub-Inspector S.P. Harish then contacted the complainant and informed him about the recovery of the mobile phone. On the same day, the passenger, identified as 46-year-old Dilip Kumar Reddy, a resident of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, visited the RPF Post.
After verification of his identity, the mobile phone worth about Rs. 20,000 was handed over to him. The passenger expressed his gratitude to RPF Mysuru for their prompt response.
