Youth killed as bike rams into electric pole

Mysuru: A 23-year-old bike rider died of injuries at a hospital, while the pillion rider suffered serious injuries, when the bike rammed into an electric pole on Gayathripuram Main Road on Thursday night.

While the deceased is Shreyas, a resident of Gayathripuram, the seriously injured youth, who has been admitted to K.R. Hospital, is Karthik.

The duo was proceeding from SP Office Circle on Gayathripuram Main Road on a Bajaj Pulsar bike, when Shreyas lost control of the bike and rammed it into an electric pole near the residence of the Superintendent of Police resulting in Shreyas suffering from serious head injuries.

Though he was rushed to a private hospital nearby, Shreyas succumbed to injuries, according to Police.

Siddarthanagar Traffic Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and have registered a case.
