Periyapatna:  In a tragic incident, a 26-year old youth was killed on the spot when an unidentified vehicle hit the motorcycle he was riding, near Hitne Hebbagilu in the taluk late last night.

Nutan (26), a resident of Convent Road in the town is the victim.

Nutan, who ran a liquor shop, was returning home on his bike after closing business for the day, when an unidentified vehicle fatally knocked him down near Hitne Hebbagilu on Periyapatna-Bettadapura road at about 11.30pm.

Nutan leaves behind his elder brother Jeevan and parents Nanjunda and Gowramma.

Periyapatna Police have registered a case in this regard.
