Mysore/Mysuru: A youth, working as a loader of a goods auto, was killed on the spot when he came under the wheels of a truck near Bidarahalli Hundi Gate on Bannur Road at about 12.15 pm today.

The deceased has been identified as Kiran (27), a resident of Biligere in Nanjangud taluk.

It is learnt that the truck and a goods auto were proceeding from Bannur side towards Mysuru and when the truck tried to overtake the goods auto, it brushed the auto resulting in Kiran, who was sitting with the goods behind the goods auto, lost his grip and fell under the wheels of the truck which ran over him, killing him instantly. The truck driver fled from the spot soon after the accident.

Varuna Police Sub-Inspector Lakshmi and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary and has launched a hunt to nab the absconding truck driver.
