Youth killed, younger brother injured as tractor rams mobike

Srirangapatna: A youth was killed on the spot while his younger brother sustained serious injuries when a tractor allegedly hit the motorbike they were riding near Palahalli village on Srirangapatna-KRS Road yesterday morning.

While the deceased is Kaushik (18), son of Mahadevu of Hulikere village in the taluk, the injured is Pavan.

Kaushik was pursuing his education at a private college in Mysuru while Pavan is an 8th standard student at Belagola Government School.

Pavan’s school had organised Karnataka Darshana tour and Kaushik was taking his brother Pavan to board him to the tour bus near the BEO’s Office, when the tragedy struck.

Pavan was immediately shifted to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru, where he is undergoing treatment.

Srirangapatna Town Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and have registered a case.
