T. Narasipur: A 26-year-old youth allegedly killed his mother for refusing to give him money for liquor. 

The incident took place at Kura Balanahundi village in Talakad hobli on  Saturday.

While the deceased has been identified as Gowramma (55), wife of Jogi Ramegowda, the accused is Shantharaju, a speech impaired youth.

On Saturday, Shantharaju, who is allegedly addicted to liquor, pestered his mother Gowramma to give him money to buy liquor. When Gowramma refused to give him money, Shantharaju, in a fit of rage, picked up a wooden plank and hit his mother and later bludgeoned her to death, according to Talakad Police, who have arrested Shantharaju besides registering a case.
