Retired Naval Officer K. Sheshadrinath at Mahajana

Mysuru: “Youth must take a pledge for Clean India” was the message to the younger generation by retd. Commodore, Indian Navy, K. Sheshadrinath at the inauguration of the Student Parliament and Talents Forum at SBRR Mahajana First Grade  College in city.

“Youth, to whom the future belongs, should be sensitive to the needs of the society, change their mindset to work for a society free of corruption, violence and a clean and green India so as to leave a rich legacy behind and added that such an action needs passion and an attitude to be pursued with fire in the mind,” said the retired Naval Officer.

Inaugurating the Student Parliament and Talents Forum, Prof. Krishnegowda, humorist and writer, praised the concept of Student Parliament in the College for a decade and said that it is fortunate the elections have not spilled over to the streets taking the colour of money.

Speaking about the power of language and speech, Prof. Krishnegowda said that language is the greatest invention through which we get to know about different people and culture. While information is the key to knowledge, wisdom is the ultimate goal which should help an individual make the right decision, he added.

He also said that the teacher and the student are complementary; one cannot be defined without the other. Peppered with humour, he called upon the students to restrain themselves about their behaviour, body language and speech because these mistakes cannot be punished.

Principal Dr. S. Venkataramu administered the oath to the newly-elected class representatives. Earlier, students shared their experiences about being a member of the Student Parliament.

President of Mahajana Education Society R. Vasudevmurthy presided. CEO and Academic Advisor Dr. S.R. Ramesh was present. Talents Forum Convenor Jayakumari welcomed. Student Parliament Co-Convenor Suhas proposed a vote of thanks.
