District Minister S.T. Somashekar to inaugurate

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru District Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), University of Mysore NSS wing, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports and various youth organisations have jointly organised a District-level Youth Parliament and Youth Convention, tomorrow from 11 am at Maharaja College Centenary Hall in city.

District Minister S.T. Somashekar will inaugurate the programme. MLA L. Nagendra will preside. MP Pratap Simha, MLAs S.A. Ramdas and G.T. Devegowda, Mayor Sunanda Palanetra, Varsity VC Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar and Registrar Prof. R. Shivappa, will be the chief guests.

Maharaja College Professor Prof. Anita Vimla Braggs will be present. Nehru Yuva Kendra State Director M.N. Natraj will deliver the keynote address and will distribute District Youth Organisation Awards.

More than 600 persons including youth and women organisation members, NSS volunteers and others from various districts are expected to attend the programme.

As part of the event, lectures on topics like Ek Bharat Shresta Bharat, Atma Nirbhar Bharat, Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Clean India Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Ayushman Bharat, COVID Awareness, Vaccination and Cancer Awareness, will be delivered.

The resource persons are Retired Professor Prof. Ramegowda, Prof. K.M. Prasanna Kumar, Centre for Rural Education Development & Innovation Technology of India (CREDIT- i) Founder Dr. M.P. Varsha, GSS Foundation Founder Srihari and Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist Dr. C.T. Avinash of Clearmedi Radiant Hospital, Mysuru.

University of Mysore NSS Programme Co-ordinator Dr. M.B. Suresh, Mysuru District Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports Assistant Director K. Suresh and District Nehru Yuva Kendra’s District Youth Officer Vinay Kumar will be present.
