Youth sentenced to 10 years jail for raping minor girl

Mysuru: The Mysuru POCSO Court has sentenced a 22-year-old youth to 10 years rigorous imprisonment besides imposing a penalty of Rs. 5,000 for raping a minor girl.

The youth who has been sentenced is Ashok, a resident of Bettadapura in Periyapatna taluk.

The youth, on May 25, 2017, had lured the minor girl to his house and had raped her and a case was registered at Bettadapura Police Station. The Police, who had conducted an investigation, had submitted a chargesheet to the Court.

Judge B.S. Jayashree, who heard the arguments from both the sides, found the accused guilty of the crime and pronounced the judgement.
