Mysore/Mysuru: A 21-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed to death today early morning by his friends at Ghousianagar in city. The deceased youth is Syed Sufiyan, a resident of ‘C’ Block in Ghousianagar.

Syed, who had come to offer namaz at about 5.45 am today, went to a tea stall near Chowkandi on Sultan Road during which wordy duel ensued between him and his friends. As the fight escalated, his friends allegedly stabbed him to death and fled from the spot, it is learnt.

Udayagiri Police, who reached the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body to Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) mortuary for post-mortem.

Two Police teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused, who are absconding.
