Mysore/Mysuru: A youth, who was watching cricket being played at a park was allegedly assaulted with a beer bottle in N.R. Police limits in city on May 24.
The youth, who was assaulted by two unidentified persons, is Syed Jahid, a resident of AJ Block in N.R. Mohalla.
On May 24, Syed, who had gone to Srirangapatna for catering work, returned home in the afternoon. After freshening up, Syed took his bike and came near Siddartha School in Gandhinagar and saw a few youths playing cricket in the park opposite to the school, stopped the bike and began to watch the game.
While he was watching the game, two unidentified persons, who were reportedly consuming liquor came near him and one of them asked him where his house was. When Syed was answering him, one of the unidentified persons tried to smash an empty beer bottle on his head. As Syed blocked it with his hand, the bottle hit his right hand causing injury. The two unidentified persons then fled from the spot.
Syed went home and his mother who saw him bleeding took him to a private hospital and got him treated.
Based on the complaint from Syed, N.R. Police, who have registered a case are investigating.
