Mysuru: Vijayanagar Police have arrested a youth who was carrying 2.48-kg ganja worth Rs. 2 lakh in a bag. The Police have seized the narcotic substance, Rs. 3,000 cash and two mobile phones from him.
The arrested youth has been identified as 23-year-old V. Vishwas, a resident of Hebbal 1st Stage in city.
Following a tip off, Vijayanagar Sub-Inspector Jaikeerthi and team, raided the spot on High Tension Double Road in Vijayanagar 4th Stage on June 9, during which, Vishwas, who was sitting with a college bag strapped on his back, saw the Police and tried to flee but was nabbed by the Police.
During interrogation, the accused is said to have told the Cops that he had brought ganja to sell, following which the Police arrested him and registered a case. The accused has been remanded to Judicial Custody.
