Youths bathing cows drown in lake

Bettadapura: Two youths, who were bathing their cows, were drowned after slipping and falling into the lake at Hasuvina Kaval village in Periyapatna taluk.

The deceased youths are Darshan and Ranjith of Hasuvina Kaval village. They were bathing the cows at Balakere, when Darshan, who was holding the rope of a cow, slipped and fell into the lake and drowned. Ranjith, who jumped into the lake in search of Darshan, also got drowned.

Bettadapura Police, who rushed to the spot, summoned expert divers to the spot, who fished out the bodies from the lake. 

The bodies were shifted to the mortuary at Periyapatna, where post-mortem was conducted and the bodies were handed over to the family members. 

Bettadapura Police have registered a case.
