On the second day of the festival, held yesterday at the sprawling grounds of Uttanahalli, Bollywood’s celebrated musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, comprising Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa, enthralled thousands.

The trio’s power-packed performance was the highlight of the cultural fest. Enthusiasm among the youth was high and the venue was packed long before the musical evening began.

From the very beginning, the energy was palpable. As the beats intensified, the crowd’s enthusiasm soared, with youngsters clapping, cheering and swaying to their favourite songs.

The trio, known for blending the richness of Indian music with modern arrangements, created an atmosphere that left music lovers spellbound.

Shankar Mahadevan’s powerful vocals, Ehsaan Noorani’s captivating guitar riffs and Loy Mendonsa’s masterful compositions came together in a musical blend.

The sweetness of the melodies and the thunder of the instruments immersed music lovers in a world of rhythm and harmony. The trio connected with the crowd, which responded with applause, whistles and joyous shouts.

Jugalbandi of vocals, guitar and orchestration

Opening the evening with a prayer to Lord Ganesha, Shankar Mahadevan invoked divine blessings by singing ‘Vakratunda Mahakaya…’ and ‘Eka Dantaya Vakratundaya…,’ seeking an auspicious, obstacle-free celebration. It was a riveting musical evening, with the crowd swaying enthusiastically to the beats of the celebrated Bollywood trio.

He then invited fellow artistes Srinidhi, Prakruthi and Shiv Mahadev to join him on stage. Together, they presented popular hits, including ‘Dil Chahta Hai…’ and ‘Let’s Do Party Tonight…,’ drawing thunderous applause. Kannada favourites such as ‘Jai Jai Anjaneya…’ and ‘Jeeva Namma Jeeva…’ further energised the crowd, filling the venue with cheers and whistles.

For over two hours, the trio’s jugalbandi of vocals, guitar and orchestration kept young hearts afloat on waves of music. Their performance not only energised the audience but also added to the grandeur of the Dasara celebrations.

The rhythm of Shankar Mahadevan’s ‘Diwana…’ swept through the crowd, drawing in not only the youth but also distinguished guests. As the beats intensified, dignitaries on stage joined in, swaying and dancing with the audience.
