10-day event to feature students from 350 colleges; Singer Vijay Prakash to perform during the valedictory on Oct. 7

Mysuru: This year’s Dasara festivities will get a kickstart with the commencement of Yuva Sambhrama, the student extravaganza at Open Air Theatre in Manasagangothri from tomorrow (Sept. 28).

Like every year, the Yuva Sambhrama Sub-Committee has come out with a theme song for ‘Yuva Sambhrama-2026’ which was released by Deputy Special Officer and ADC R. Aishwarya at Centro Mall in city yesterday.

The music to theme song has been composed by Neethu Ninaad and the lyrics have been written by Nagendra, Gowri and Team Sakkath. Singers/ Composer Guru Kiran and Ananya Bhat have lent their voices for the song.

Speaking to media persons, ADC Aishwarya said that District Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah would be inaugurating Yuva Sambhrama at the Open Air Theatre at 5 pm tomorrow.

“Renowned playback singer Vijay Prakash and actress Sapthami Gowda will be present as special invitees. The events during 10-day youth festival will be held from 4.30 pm to 10 pm,” she said and added that students from more than 350 colleges would be showcasing their talents during the event.

Two-day ‘Chitra Santhe’

The Sub-Committee has also organised two-day ‘Chitra Santhe’ & Flee Market on Oct. 2 and 3 at Manasagangothri. There will also be stalls selling chaats, cool drinks and ice creams.

Women’s Day Celebrations

This year, Yuva Sambhrama will feature a day reserved for students of women’s colleges. Opportunities will be given only to girl students to perform on stage. The Sub-Committee is also providing opportunity for the specially-abled students to perform during the event.

“We have received 21 applications from specially-abled and they will perform everyday along with other troupes. Boarding facilities have also been provided to students travelling from faraway places,” she added.

The valedictory of Yuva Sambhrama will feature special event by singer Vijay Prakash on Oct. 7. Troupes which have performed well during the 10-day event will feature at various other Dasara events, said the ADC.
