Zoo, Karanji Lake to remain shut till Mar. 31

As per the directions of the Member Secretary, Zoo Authority of Karnataka (ZAK), Mysuru, the closure of Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens (Mysuru Zoo) and Karanji Lake Nature Park for public viewing has been extended till Mar. 31, said Zoo Executive Director Ajit M. Kulkarni in a press release. No Bird Flu in Zoo: “The faecal matter of the birds housed inside the Mysuru Zoo was sent for lab testing and the reports indicated no signs of Bird Flu inside the Zoo premises. But, still as a precautionary measure, disinfectants are being sprayed at all the cages and the birds are being fed food which help boost immunity and also prevent bird flu,” said Ajit Kulkarni.
