Mysuru: The nomination of members to various Zilla Panchayat (ZP) panels, which had become a bone of contention between Congress and JD(S) members at the Aug.6 ZP meeting, that was inconclusive, was however successful yesterday as the members to the panels were announced.

While J. Nataraju of the BJP will head the General Standing Committee, ZP President Nayeema Sulthana of the JD(S) will head the Standing Committee on Finance, Planning and Audit.

However, the Chairpersons of three other Standing Committees — Social Justice, Health and Education and Agriculture and Industries, will be elected by the constituent members at a later date.

General Standing Committee: Chairman: BJP’s G. Nataraju. Members: JD-S’ S. Dinesh, K.C. Jayakumar, M.B. Surendra, H.S. Dayanandamurthy, BJP’s B.N. Sadananda and Congress’ D. Ravishankar.

Finance, Planning & Audit Standing Committee: Chairperson: JD-S’ Nayeema Sulthana. Members: JD-S’ M.P. Nagaraju, Beerihundi Basavanna,  Rudramma Nagaraju, BJP’s Mangala Somashekar, Congress’ Manjunathan & Jayamma.

Social Justice Standing Committee – Members: JD-S’ K.S. Manjunath, S.R. Nandeesh, Roopa Lokesh, BJP’s H.R. Prema, Congress’ M. Sudhir, Pushpa Nageshraj and S. Srikrishna.

Health & Education Standing Committee – Members: JD-S’ Chandrika Suresh, S. Madegowda, BJP’s Leelavathi, Congress’ J. Achuthananda, C. Mani, Nagarathna & Savithramma.

Agriculture & Industrial Standing Committee – Members: JD-S’ M. Premakumari, M.J. Veena, P. Rajendra, BJP’s Venkataswamy, Congress’ Mangalamma, M.V. Gowramma Somashekar & Amit V. Devarahatti.
