102nd birth anniversary of D. Devaraj Urs: District Administration hosts traditional wrestling tournament

City’s wrestler Chandan won the silver mace in the traditional wrestling tournament organised at Devaraja Urs Multipurpose Stadium at Dasara Exhibition premises yesterday.

The tournament, organised by District Administration, ZP and Department of Backward Classes Welfare to mark the 102nd birth anniversary of D.Devaraja  Urs, witnesses 30 pair of wrestlers from all over the country taking part.

Results: Pahilwan Chandan beat Pahilwan Dasi, Pahilwan Vasik beat PahilwanKumar, Pahilwan Shahdab beat Pahilwan Raju,  Pahilwan Sharath beat Pahilwan Raghavendra, Pahilwan Ravichandra beat Pahilwan Naveen, Pahilwan Sikander Sheikh beat Pahilwan Bhajarangi,  Pahilwan Kishore Purohit beat Pahilwan Naveen, Pahilwan Chethan beat Pahilwan Manju, Pahilwan Raghu beat Pahilwan Venkatesh, Pahilwan Sachin beat Pahilwan Mohit. The rest of wrestling bouts ended in draw.
