Kolar: In a ghastly road mishap, at least eleven persons were killed and several others were injured when the Tata Ace they were travelling in, collided head-on with a private bus near Murugamalla in Chintamani taluk of Kolar district this morning.

All the injured were rushed to hospitals at Kolar and Chintamani. The Tata Ace vehicle was said to be carrying over 15 passengers from Chintamani to Murugamalla and other places, when it collided head-on with an oncoming private bus at a curved stretch of the road near Murugamalla. Due to the impact of the collision, 11 passengers were killed on the spot, while all others in Tata Ace vehicle sustained injuries, it is learnt.

Chintamani Police have registered a case in this regard.
