15 SDM-IMD students head to foreign shores

Mysuru: International student exchange programmes enable students to understand each other’s country, business practices and culture, besides learning advanced subjects.

With the experience gained, the students are well-prepared for international projects or placement opportunities and get an edge when it comes to the selection process by multinational companies.

SDM Institute for Management Development, Mysuru, has been sending the select PGDM students to different Universities and management institutes  under the International Student Exchange Programme since the last ten years.

For 2018, 15 students are proceeding to different places, from January. Mayur G. Raj, Yogitha Bhat, Riju Mittal and S. Chandana are going to Texas A&M University, USA. K.U. Kaveramma, Swathi Prasad, S.U. Vivek Aradhya and Varsha Bheemaiah will proceed to University of Bordeaux, France, Anisha Ronita Raj, N. Navaneeth Ballal, Nayantara Dorothy D’Souza and E. Nitin will go to University of Pau, France, Ramakrishna Patil, Samiksha Patel and K.M. Monisha will go to Heilbronn University, Germany.

The exchange programme that started off with the Mays School of Business, Texas A&M University, USA, today has been expanded to include the Global Management  Education Institute, Shanghai University, China, British University in Dubai, University of Dubai, University of Bordeaux, and University of Pau, France, University of Montevideo, Uruguay, and Heillbronn University, Germany.

Students are selected through a comprehensive process, including an interview and assessment of various parameters like academic performance, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities and scores in the qualifying exams.

Under the exchange programme the tuition fees are waived off by hosting institutes and the students would bear the travel, accommodation, and living expenses.
