DC holds preliminary meeting

Nanjangud:“District Administration will provide all facilities for organising Srikanteshwaraswamy Jathra Mahotsava to be held in Nanjangud on Mar.28,” said Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep.

He was speaking at a preliminary meeting in view of the event at Dasoha Bhavan here on Jan.20.

Randeep said that people had urged the District Administration to provide better infrastructure for devotees. He assured that encroachments on Ratha Beedhi would be cleared and laid with concrete at a cost of Rs.10 crore. He further said that vehicle parking and footwear stands would be properly organised to prevent fleecing by contractors.

The DC asked officers to provide potable water and ensure good sanitation to prevent outbreak of contagious diseases. He asked KSRTC officials to provide additional bus facility on Jathra day and assured to provide good lighting on the bypass road.

MLA Kalale Keshavamurthy, Tahsildar M. Dayananad, Additional DC T. Yogesh, Temple Executive Officer Kumaraswamy, Assistant Executive Officer Gangaiah, Municipal President Pushpalatha Kamalesh and others attended the meeting.
