Mysore/Mysuru: The twentieth annual get-together of Jayalakshmi Kodava Association, Mysuru, was held recently at Kodagu Sahakara Sangha in Jayalakshmipuram.
The function started with an invocation by Kodira Jyothi Poonacha. Association President Ballyanda Uthappa welcomed and presided.
Condolences were offered to five of the departed members during the last one year. New members of the Association self introduced themselves to the gathering.
The previous year’s team will continue to function as Committee for 2025-2026, headed by Ballyanda P. Uthappa as President, Pandiyanda Girish as Vice-President, Jammada Ganesh Ayanna as Secretary, Muckatira A. Somaiah as Treasurer, with about 15 Committee Members.
President Ballyanda Uthappa addressed the gathering on various issues for the betterment of the Association and requested members to take active part through their attendance.
Three senior members were honoured — Anjaparavanda Kunjappa, Retd., IGP; Kandarthanda Sunny Muthappa and Kodira Poonacha.
Committee Member Pattada Jaikumar was also honoured for his excellent work in collecting, compiling and computerising the entire membership data, address and telephone numbers on area basis.
Mallangada Devanshi Jaya-prakash, a budding youngster, was recognised for her achievements in Rifle Shooting.
Treasurer Muckatira Somaiah presented the accounts for the year 2024-2025.
Mallangada Swetha Jaya-prakash compered. Muruvanda Indu Ganapathy organised various games. Two writers and authors of the Association Dr. Mallengada Latha Muthanna and Chonira Geetha Cariappa, displayed their books for the benefit of the members.
Jammada Ganesh Ayanna, Hon. Secretary of the Association, in his capacity as the Treasurer of Kodavaame Baalo Nadp, spoke in detail about the recently conducted historic walk, from Kutta to Madikeri, Kodavaame Baalo Nadp from Feb. 2 to 7, 2025.
Vice-President Pandiyanda U. Girish proposed the vote of thanks.
