March 30, 2019

Mysuru/Mandya:  A total of 22 candidates including those from the BJP, Congress and BSP have remained in the fray in Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha (LS) seat. On Friday, three candidates, all independents, withdrew from the contest thus leaving 22 out of the 25 candidates who had filed nomination, in the fray.

While sitting MP Pratap Simha has been re-nominated by the BJP, the Congress has fielded former MP and Minister C.H. Vijayashankar and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Dr. B. Chandra. A total of 30 candidates had filed their nomination and during scrutiny, the nomination papers of five independent candidates were rejected for various reasons. On Friday, three independents — P.S.
