Mysore/Mysuru: A three-day health check-up camp for women organised at Sigma Hospital in the city was inaugurated yesterday.
On the first day, over a hundred women underwent tests related to uterus, cervical, lump in the breast, menstrual issues among others and sought suitable medical remedy from the doctors. Free scanning was also conducted for the needy.
Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr. Leelavathi said, women who handle several responsibilities are bound to experience health-related issues. Any negligence may prove grave in the future. Hence, women should make use of this camp.
Gynaecologist and Laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Tejaswini Shekar said, scanning procedure is conducted without obtaining any charges and treatment will be given on the basis of diagnosis.
Senior Paediatrician Dr. Rajeshwari Madappa, also the Director of Sigma Hospital said, the speciality of the camp is, it is being conducted in the interest of women’s health.
Managing Director S. Gnanashankar said, of late, there is an increase in number of women diagnosed with breast and uterus ailments. To treat such patients, the hospital has expert doctors with 35 years experience. Women who have crossed 40 years age should undergo health check up at least once in a year.
Surgeon Dr. Sharatchandra said, the issues related to uterus and ovary, stone in kidney, stomach related issues among others, are noticed among women. It is better advised to seek medical advice and treatment.
