Mysore/Mysuru: Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled, run by NR Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the NR Group, celebrated its 34th Annual Day in the school premises in city recently.
The event was inaugurated in a unique way by inviting the parents of students to do the honours along with R. Guru, Chairman, NR Group.
B. Basavaraju, Deputy Director, Department of Women and Child Development, who was the chief guest, said, “We can only build our nation better, if we build our children better. By providing our children not only with education, but also life skills we can ensure a better society.”
Annual day event featured a variety of cultural programmes by students who captivated the audience by performing Action Song, Vande Mataram Group Dance, Krishnavathara Group Dance, Swayamvara Comedy Skit, Folk Dance etc.
Annual day is one of the most awaited celebrations for the alumni too who participated in large numbers. The event concluded with prize distribution.
Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled is a free residential school for visually challenged girls from economically disadvantaged background, giving them confidence to be responsible for themselves. Students passed out from the school are today working at various institutions and leading their life with dignity which stands testimonial to the noble cause initiated by the NR Group.
