3rd Khelo India Youth Games 2020: Ambika wins silver in Shot-put

Mysuru’s V. Ambika, a second year student of B.Sc (Food Science & Nutrition) at Maharani’s Science College, Mysuru, representing Karnataka in the Shot-put event in the Girls U-21 section in the 3rd Khelo India Youth Games 2020 held at Guwahati, Assam, on Tuesday, won silver medal with a throw of 14.21m.

The gold medal was won by Maharashtra’s Poorna Subodh Raorane who threw the shot to a distance of 14.57m. Paramjot Kaur of Punjab with a throw of 14.17m won bronze medal.

Ambika is coached by V. Mohan Kumar, a senior athlete from Mysuru, at Chamundi Vihar Stadium, Mysuru. Ambika is the daughter of late Venkatasubbiah (former qualified cricket umpire) and B.G. Shyamala.
