Students make it to Guinness Records

Form largest human image of foot of Maharshi Poojyapada

As many as 1,290 students of 11 colleges in the district formed the largest human image of the right foot of Maharshi Poojyapada, during the Athishaya Mahotsava recently, at Srikshetra Kanakagiri in the taluk and made it to Guinness World Records.

The feat was achieved on January 29 when over 1,200 students formed the human image of the foot measuring 100ftX200ft. The representatives of the Guinness World Records had videographed the event, and on March 25 had formally informed Bhuvanakeerthi Bhattarka Swami about feat making it to the list of world records.

The letter stated that out of thousands of applications for the Guinness World Records, only 5% achieve the feat and get their place in the book. So far, 40,000 records have been registered in the book including the formation by the Chamarajanagar students, the letter added.
