‘5,000 lecturers to be appointed by next year’

Mysuru:  “Posts of lecturers have been lying vacant for the last ten years and 5,000 lecturers will be recruited in the next one year,”  assured G.T. Devegowda (GTD), Minister for Higher Education.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Student Parliament and Talent Forum at Mahajana First Grade College in Jayalakshmipuram here yesterday.

GTD contended that higher education was invaluable and an asset for life. He opined that skill and value-based education are essential in the current scenario. He advised students to blend art, culture and sports with education to evolve as a complete person.

Minister for Minor Irrigation C.S. Puttaraju, Advocate O. Sham Bhat, Mahajana Education Society President Vasudeva Murthy, Vice-President T. Muralidhar Bhagvat and Hon. Secretary Dr. Vijayalakshmi were present.
