Traffic disrupted as bus breaks down on Chamaraja Double Road

August 8, 2018

Mysuru: Traffic was disrupted for more than an hour on Chamaraja Double Road as a KSRTC bus broke down on the road. The KSRTC bus was on its way from Mysuru to Hunsur when it broke down near Shantala Talkies signal. Since the bus was blocking half the road, the traffic coming from the Patashala Circle towards Ramaswamy Circle kept piling up.

As the bus driver went to get the mechanic, the public, who had gathered near the bus, were directing the vehicles to move. However, in spite of all the confusion, neither the Police nor the Home Guard personnel came to the spot.

Sensor problem: In order to avoid accidents due to technical defects, the new type of buses has been installed with sensors. While the bus is moving if it senses danger, then the bus switches off automatically and even the steering gets locked. In the interest of the safety of the passengers, this arrangement is very essential.

However, if the bus stops due to technical problem, then only a technical expert has to reach the place and find out the problem through the laptop. It took more than an hour to repair the bus.

One wonders what would happen if a bus breaks down on a highway. The KSRTC officials need to think along these lines too. Hence, it is important that all the mechanics are trained to handle such situations, feel the public.
