59th Uprising Day: Hundreds of Tibetans stage protest

Mysuru: Marking the 59th Tibetan National Uprising Day against the Chinese Government, hundreds of Tibetans took part in the protest march in city yesterday.

The members of Tibetan Youth Congress, Regional Tibetan Women’s Association from Bylakuppe, Kollegal and Hunsur, who assembled in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, took out a protest march to the DC’s office, where they staged a protest.

The demanded the United Nations (UN) to exert pressure on the Chinese Government to accept the peaceful way initiated by the Dalai Lama to resolve the Tibetan issue, to hold dialogues with the Central Tibetan Administration, to release Panchen Lama and all political prisoners and to uphold the Tibetan people’s freedom of religion, speech, livelihood and culture.

Tenzin Lakyob, Chong Tenzin, Tenzin Dolma and others took part in the protest.
