Articulate Dance Fest on Sunday evening

Articulate Festival, coordinated by Mysore B. Nagaraj, is conducted on third Sunday of every month, in city. Accomplished Indian Classical dancers both from India and abroad take part in this festival.  

On Sunday, 15th July,  in its 26th series, artistes are scheduled to perform in Kathak and Bharatnatyam starting at 6 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavana of Ganabharathi, Kuvempunagar.

This series presents Sampada Pillai in a solo Kathak  while Kausalya Chandra, Ojaswini, Sandhya Muralidharan and Nikhitha Manjunath will perform  Bharathnatyam solo.

Profile: Kausalya Chandra, disciple of Guru Nandini Eswer, who is currently pursuing Master’s in Performing Arts, is a Visharadh from Gandharva Maha Vidhyalay, Vidwath from Karnataka Secondary Education Board, A-graded artiste of Doordarshan and a faculty member of Raasavrunda School of Dance, Mysuru.

Nikhitha Manjunath, a senior disciple of Karnataka Kalashree Guru Sathyanarayan Raju, is a graded artiste of Doordarshan. After having completed her senior grade examination under Karnataka Secondary Education Board, she is also a recipient of Karnataka Nrutyakala Parishath’s Scholarship.

Ojaswini, after her initial training under Guru Manikya Devi, is currently furthering under Guru  Supriya Komandur. Academically she has obtained Master’s Degree in Bharatnatyam from Bangalore University.

Sandhya Muralidharan did her Rangapravesha under Guru Mamatha Karanth and is currently training under Guru Rukmini Vijayakumar. She is part of Raadha Kalpa Dance ensemble.

Sampada Pillai was tutored by Guru Amala Suri Patkar, Goa, before coming under the guidance of Guru Rohini Bhate of Pune. She is a Parangat in Kathak as evaluated by the Kala Academy, Goa. She now teaches in her own school Riddham Kathak School in Bengaluru.
