Rotary Star Suraksha ID Cards launched

August 19, 2018

Mysuru:  Rotary Ivory City Mysuru, along with ACME Interact Club, on July 22, launched a unique programme of creating awareness among general public about the need for carrying Personal Identity Cards with them while going out for morning stroll or any other work.

This applies specially to senior citizens who may require immediate medical attention during emergencies.

Rotary, with the support of Star Insurance Company Pvt. Ltd., has launched this project and is planning to issue Rotary Star Suraksha Cards to senior citizens. It is proposed to cover nearly one lakh people in this project.

The target was morning walkers at Niveditha Nagar. 25 Interactors, ACME School Teachers and Rotarians of Rotary Ivory City interacted with the morning walkers between 6.30 and 7.30 in the morning and collected their personal data to issue Rotary Suraksha ID Cards as a precaution to meet emergency situations. Our survey shows that majority of the morning walkers do not carry any ID proofs thinking that it may not be required. But if any accident or other mishaps occurs it will be very difficult to inform their kith and kin about the happening. Rotary Ivory City thought it fit to educate morning walkers and provide them these cards for getting emergency medical attention.

Assistant Governor Rtn. Sunil Baliga, President Rtn. Perumal, Vice-President Rtn. Then Perumal, IPP Rtn. Nagaraj, Community Service Director Rtn. Rajeev, Youth  Service Director Rtn. Shobha Nagaraj, Rtn. M.N. Ramesh, Rtn. Simha, Rtn. Babu Attar and others were present.
