Hunsur: A tiger, which has stayed put at Taragan Estate along with her two cubs since 40 days and had killed two cows, yesterday attacked a cow leaving it seriously injured.
The tiger attacked the cow of one Peer Pasha, near Sabrahalla at Neguthoru village in Hanagodu hobli bordering Nagarahole Reserve Forest.
The tiger, which had earlier stayed put in the estate of a Kerala-based businessman, has now shifted its place to the forest area bordering Shettalli village, which has created a sense of fear among the villagers.
After the tiger was sighted earlier, the Forest Department personnel with the help of Drone cameras and tamed elephants conducted combing operation for about 10 days. As the tiger was not sighted the Forest staff had kept a cage to trap the elusive tiger. This had created fear among villagers, students and children to go out of their houses.
Today, the Forest Department has begun their operation for the second time and the villagers hope that they would capture the elusive tiger this time.
The villagers have urged the Forest Officials to take the matter seriously as the tiger is moving around with her two cubs and trap them at the earliest.
