Entries invited from women, children; Cultural programmes for transgenders and differently-abled children

Mysuru: The Mahila Dasara Sub-Committee has invited entries from women and children to take part in various cultural programmes to be conducted as part of Dasara festivities this year from Oct.11 to 15 at J.K. Grounds in city.

Oct.11

7.30 am: Rangoli Competition  in front of Mysore Palace – for women in three categories — 9 to 15 years; 16 to 30 years and above 30 years. Interested may contact Sowmya on  Mob: 96630-48292.

11 am: Inauguration of ‘Udyama Sambrama,’ an expo-cum-sale of products produced by various Stree Shakthi Groups and women entrepreneurs; Presentation of Folk Dances of various States — women and children aged above nine years can take part. Contact Shyamala on Mob: 99721-64131.

6 pm: ‘Sriman Srimati Durbar’ – Group dance for married couples and Group Dance for married women. Contact Kavitha on Mob:  90368-44557.

Oct. 12

11 am to 5.30 pm: Chinnara Dasara — Group dance for children. Contact Bhagyashree on Mob: 94818-31708.

6 pm: ‘Kinnara Kinnari, Mysuru’ — Duet and Group dance for children in the age group of 1 to 3 years, 3 to 9 years and 9 to 15 years; ‘Chinnara Kalarava’ programme for 5 months to one-year-old. Contact Kavitha on Mob: 90368-44557.

Oct.14

‘Hasya-Lasya’ — A comedy show by noted comedian Sudha Baraguru. Short play, pick and speak and speech competition for women of all age groups. Contact Shyamala on Mob: 99721-64131.

6 pm: A women empowerment dance – Mythological and Western theme – Junior and Senior category. Women/ girls above 10 years can take part. Contact Kavitha (90368-44557).

Oct.15

10.30 am to 5.30 pm: ‘Janapada Siri’ — A folk dance contest for women/ girls above 10 years. Contact Sowmya (96630-48292).

6 pm to 7.30 pm: Cultural programmes by Mangalamukhis (transgenders).
