Mysuru: ‘Gurunadaparva,’ a Music Festival with two unique Karnatak Music Concerts, has been organised at Sri Vasudevacharya Bhavana (Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha) on JLB Road in city on Nov.28 and 29 at 6 pm.
On Nov.28, three stalwart musicians, G.S. Ramanujam (mridanga), Dr. Srivani Yalla (veena) and Yogeswaran Manickam (vocal), will be conferred with the prestigious ‘Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Birth Centenary Commemorative Award.’ Padma Shree Dr. R. Satyanarayana will be present.
Prior to the award presentation, Mysuru’s young musician Vyshnavi Datta will give a concert. After receiving the award, Dr. Srivani Yalla of Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh, will give a veena concert. She will be accompanied by Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on ghata.
Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy will inaugurate and bestow the awards. B. Mohandesh Raj Urs will be the chief guest.
On Nov.29, Yogeswaran Manickam, the European star musician who promotes Karnatak Music there, will give a delectable music concert accompanied by Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy on violin, Vid. Saishivu on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on ghata.
Vid. Dr. R.S. Nandakumar, musician scholar of Mysuru, has organised these events with co-sponsoring by Brahmavidya and Urs Community.
