Man forges signature of doctor, transfers Rs. 14.45 lakh from bank account

Mysuru: A doctor has lodged a Police complaint, alleging that an unidentified person had forged his signature and has transferred lakhs of rupees from his bank account.

The doctor identified as Dr. Devaraj in his complaint lodged at Jayalakshmipuram Police Station, has stated that he has an account at Bank of Baroda, Gangotri Layout Branch. On Nov. 5, when he went to the bank and got his Pass Book updated, he had Rs.1,81,91,892 in his account and on further checking his Pass Book, he found that a total of Rs. 14.45 lakh was transferred from his account on various dates. On Sept. 11, Rs. 8.75 lakh was transferred using Cheque No. 27, on Sept. 27, Rs. 60,000 (Cheque No. 30) and on Oct. 18, Rs. 5 lakh was transferred using Cheque No. 29. The doctor has further stated that one Baburao had forged his signature and has transferred the money.
