Donations to service organisations, felicitation to sincere staff, awards to talented children

Mysuru:  Education is the key to progress and hence everyone must unitedly work to preserve it, said Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama President Swami Athmajnanandaji.

He was speaking at a programme organised at Madhava Shenoy Kalyana Mantapa in Vishweshwaranagar recently, to present Pratibha Puraskar to Sri Mahalakshmi Sweets Employees’ Children and Students and to felicitate achievers as part of Sri Mahalakshmi Charitable Trust’s anniversary celebrations.

“The fault lines that we see in society and education field even today is the lack of unity in working together. The staff in an organisation must always feel that one is working for the welfare of the organisation. One should give up selfish attitude and work selflessly and only then can one see the development of the organisation along with oneself,” he said. Mahalakshmi Sweets, which is familiar to every household in the city, has involved itself in service to the society in its own unique way by laying stress on welfare programmes by setting up a Charitable Trust and helping various organisations, that is truly laudable, he said.

Renowned novelist and Saraswathi Samman awardee Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa presented awards and felicitated achievers in different fields that included Chamarajanagar Deenabandhu Trust Hon. Secretary Prof. G.S. Jayadeva, Pandavapura Pusthakamane’s Ankegowda and progressive natural farmers M. Rechanna & Santosh Rayappa Kittur.

Later, 75 children of employees of Mahalakshmi Sweets were presented Pratibha Puraskar.

Best employees: Mahalakshmi Sweets employees Katval Kumar, Veerabhadra, Sujatha Shoba, Siddappa, Satish and Ravi, who are serving the organisation with sincerity, honesty and integrity were presented cash awards.

Aid to organisations: Mahalakshmi Sweets has been donating for causes and this time it has given Rs.5 lakh to RK Ashrama, Rs.1 lakh each to Janajagarana Trust, Deenabandhu Trust and Shaktidhama, 2.5 kg silver to Subramanya Temple in Vishweshwaranagar, Rs.50,000 each to Nireekshe Special School and Karunamayi Foundation and Rs.25,000 each to sportspersons B. Manush and Nandita Raj. Also the keys of the toilets built at a cost of Rs.2 lakh at Gejjagalli Higher Primary School in Mysuru taluk was handed over to the School authorities on the occasion.

Former Rangayana Director H. Janardhan, Sharana Sahitya Parishat former President M. Chandrashekar, Hotel Owners’ Association President C. Narayanagowda, singer H.R. Leelavathi, Shankar Devanuru, Trust President Shivakumar, Nagesh of Bhima Properties and others were present.
