Series of thefts in K.R. Nagar, H.D. Kote

K.R. Nagar:  Thieves made away with cash, gold ornaments and other valuables after breaking the locks of various houses in a series of thefts occurred at Vinayaka Layout near Cheernahalli Road in the town on Thursday night.

The incident took place when the owners of the houses were out of station and enjoying their holidays. The culprits looted the houses of Taluk Office Statistician Girish, Rampur School Teacher Dinesh and Natanahalli Shekar.

Thieves decamped with Rs.24,000 cash from Girish’s house, 25 grams of gold ornaments, one kg silver ornaments and Rs.60,000 cash from Dinesh’s House and 48 grams of gold ornaments, 40 grams of silver ornaments and Rs.11,000 cash from Shekar’s house.

The incident came to light after owners of these houses returned home from their trip and alerted the Police. On receipt of information, a team of Police, led by CPI P.K. Raju and Sub-Inspector Subramanya along with Dog Squad and Finger Print Experts, visited the spot.

Residents of the Vinayaka Layout, panicked by this incident, urged Police to intensify the night beat and Police Patrolling in their area to contain such incidents. Town Police have registered a case and have intensified investigation.

House burgled  in broad daylight

In another incident in H.D. Kote, thieves decamped with Rs.1.5 lakh cash and 50 grams of gold ornaments after breaking  open the lock of the house of Natesh at Judges Colony in Jayapura Police Station limits.

The incident took place yesterday afternoon between 12 noon and 3 pm in this isolated colony when the owner of the house had gone to work. Natesh works as a Manager in a Garage in Mysuru.

On receipt of complaint, Jayapura Police, along with Dog Squad and Finger Print Experts, visited the spot.

A case has been registered at Jayapura Police Station.

Police suspect that the gang that was involved in series of thefts occurred at Vinayaka Layout near Cheernahalli Road in K.R. Nagar taluk last Thursday night, might have lifted the booty in Judges Colony. They have come to this conclusion based on clues collected at the crime spot and have intensified search to nab the gang.
