Mysore: The new team of Rotary District 3181 for the year 2019-20 was installed at a ceremony held at Hotel Rio Meridian on Sayyaji Rao Road here yesterday.
Rtn. Joseph Mathew was installed as the District Governor for the year 2019-20 by RI Director Rtn. Dr. Bharat S. Pandya.
Also, Rotarians Dr. H.S. Shivanna, M. Lakshminarayan, Vivek Attavar, M. Rathnaraj, Ravichandra, Srinivas Reddy, Dr. Subbarao, Raghavendra, Ritesh Baliga, Dr. Keshav, Geetananda Pai and Sumeet Rao were installed as new office-bearers (2019-20) of Rotary District 3181.
Speaking on the occasion, Rtn. Dr. Bharat S. Pandya said that many people in the country were suffering from heart and other ailments and the Rotary on its part should take measures for helping those affected.
Pointing out that the Rotary is globally known for its social services, he said that he was happy to note that Rotary members were wholeheartedly extending service to society. He wished the newly-installed office-bearers all success in their endeavour.
District Governor (2018-19) Rtn. P. Rohinath, who presided, said that Rotary International (RI) which is doing societal service in its own way, is giving importance both to the individual and the post of the individual.
New Rotary District Governor Rtn. Joseph Mathew, in his address, said that he was a member of Rotary West since 20 years, serving the Club in various capacities.
Stating that he was delighted to become the District Governor, he said that he has prepared an agenda for serving the society in his one-year term.
Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, Bishop of Mysuru Rev. Fr. K.A. William, former Bishop Thomas Antony Vazhapilly, St. Joseph’s College Principal Bernard Prakash and scores of Rotary members were present.
Rotary District – 3181 comprises four districts of Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada and has 85 Rotary Clubs with a total membership of over 4,000.
