Mysuru: Kannada Sahitya Parishat, to mark its 102nd Foundation Day celebrations, had organised a programme at its District Office near Palace North Gate here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Folk Scholar Dr. H.S. Ramachandregowda opined that Kannada Sahitya Parishat was focusing only on literature which should be converted into an educational institution of the State. He added that literature portrayed humility and good culture which were of great necessity to society now.
Addressing the gathering, littérateurs T.V. Venkatachala Murthy hailed the contribution of Kuvempu, Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar and D.V. Gundappa to Kannada literature.
District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna, Treasurer Rajashekar Kadamba, Secretary Jayappa Honnali and others were present on the occasion.
