Mysuru: A man, depressed of being accused of committing theft at a factory, committed suicide by hanging self at his house in Madhuvana Layout, Srirampura, on Monday night.
The deceased is Harish Kumar (42), an employee of Spectra Pipes Company at Hootagalli Industrial Area in city.
On Oct.17, company’s General Manager Hariprasanna conducted stock checking during which he came to know about seven copper and aluminium clamps being stolen, following which Hariprasanna brought it to the notice of the company’s head and lodged a complaint at Vijayanagar Police Station on Oct.25.
Based on the complaint, Vijayanagar Police had instructed Harish to come to the Police Station on Oct.28 morning for enquiry.
But Harish, who told the Cops that he would come in the evening, went home. His wife had gone out for work. Harish, who locked the door from inside, wrote a 12-page death note and later committed suicide.
His wife, who returned after some time, knocked on the door several times and as there was no response, she fetched another key from the house owner and on opening the door, the suicide came to light, according to Police.
In the death note, Harish has written that he has no connection with the theft and he was innocent. Let the Police catch the real thieves. He has also written about the theft in the factory and the problems being faced by him.
Harish’s brother Raghavendra said that Harish got married 12 years ago and there were no problems in the family as both husband and wife were happy. He also stated that Harish had joined the company 18 years ago and there was not a single problem.
Kuvempunagar Police are investigating.
