‘Athithya Ratna’ award for two city hoteliers

Mysuru: City’s Dasaprakash Hotel owner K. Ramavittal Das and Gokulam’s Mukund Iyengar Bakery owner Murali Rangaswamy have bagged the annual Athithya Ratna Award given by Karnataka State Hotel and Restaurant Owners Association , Bengaluru.

Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, Association  President B. Chandrashekar Hebbar said that 12 personalities have been identified for this year’s Athithya Ratna and Udyama Ratna awards. 

Mysuru’s Ram Vittal Das and Murali Rangaswamy, K.K. Bhaskar of Kodagu, N. Sriramarao of Chikkaballapur, Kalmane Trivikrama Acharya of Ballari, Madhava Govind Nayaka of Bagalkot, Haridas Shetty of Hubballi, B.Seetharama Shetty and B.S. Manjunath of Bengaluru have been selected for Athithya Ratna award, while L.R. Kamath and Shylendra Sharma of Bengaluru and Rammohan Naik of Belagavi have been selected for Udyama Ratna award. 

The awards will be conferred at a programme to take place Asha Prakash Shetty Bunts Bhavan in Vijayanagar Third Stage here at 4pm on Dec.15, he said and added that the awardees will be brought in a procession from Yoganarasimhaswamy Temple to the venue.

Hebbar further said that Mysuru District Minister V. Somanna will inaugurate the programme at 4pm in the presence of MP Pratap Simha, MLAs L. Nagendra, G.T. Devegowda and S.A. Ramdas,MLC Sandesh Nagaraj, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, actor Gurunandan, Association Hon. President K. Prakash Shetty and others. Teerthahalli Bheemasethu Mutt Seer Raghuvarendra Teertha Swamiji will grace the occasion,he added.

Maintaining that the Hotel Industry is contributing much to the State’s economy, Hebbar wanted the State Government to consider Hoteliers too for Rajyotsava Award.

Association State Vice-President Ravishastri said that Mysuru is hosting the awards programme after a gap of 12 years.
