May 21, 2017

Mysuru: Officials from the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) seized construction materials from Senthilkumar Textiles on Sayyaji Rao Road in city yesterday for not obtaining the mandatory permission before taking up repair and other works.

According to MCC officials, as per rules, obtaining permission from the Town Planning Section is mandatory before repair works are taken up at any building within corporation limits.

Despite several reminders for the textile showroom to seek permission before undertaking the works, the showroom authorities ignored the directive and went ahead with the works, said officials.

Following unauthorised construction, MCC Development Officer Rudresh Kumar, Assistant Town Planner Pankaja, Assistant Engineers Ravikumar and Pavithra raided the showroom and seized construction materials.

The officials asked the showroom staff to obtain permission before starting the works and asked them to stop business activities till then.
