Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru South Rural Police have arrested two persons on charges of stealing a lorry and have recovered the stolen vehicle from them.
The arrested are Govinda of Gejjalagere village in Maddur taluk of Mandya district and Rathan Shekar of Konashale village in Maddur.
Govinda and Rathan had stolen the lorry (KA-17-A-5335), belonging to one V. Mahesh, which was parked in APMC Petrol Bunk on Nanjangud Road in city on May 29 and Mysuru South Rural Police, who had registered a case in this regard, had formed an Investigation Team to trace the lorry and apprehend the culprits.
Yesterday morning at about 6 am, Mysuru Rural Sub-Inspector V.C. Vanaraju and staff arrested Govinda and Rathan near Sri Shaneshwaraswamy Temple at Bandipalya and brought them to the Police Station. During interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of stealing the lorry and showed the Police the place where they had hid the lorry.
Sub-Inspectors V.C. Vanaraju and Mahesh Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shivakumar and staff Zahur Ahmed, Nanjundaswamy, Satish, Thimmaiah, Raju and Suresh took part in the nabbing and recovery operation.
