Bengaluru: Accusing the State BJP Government of pursuing a hidden agenda of saffronisation of text books, Opposition Leader and former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah alleged that the dropping of Chapters on Mohammad Pygamber, Tipu Sultan, Jesus Christ, Sangolli Rayanna, Rani Abbakkadevi and other great personalities from School text books was the first step in this regard.

In a series of Tweets on Wednesday, Siddharamaiah questioned Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on the State Government’s move to drop Chapters on such towering personalities in Class 10 text books. 

Declaring that the Congress will not allow saffronisation of text books, the former CM wondered whether the Committee which recommended this was bigger than the State Government.
