Mysore/Mysuru: Members of Karnataka Rajya Dalita Sangharsha Samiti – Buddhavada have urged the District Administration to erect statue of D. Devaraj Urs in a major circle in Mysuru city.
Speaking at an awareness programme organised by the district unit of the Samiti at the Institution of Engineers-India (IEI) on JLB Road here on Tuesday to celebrate 105th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister D. Devaraj Urs, Samiti State Convenor Ningaraj Malladi remembered the contributions of Devaraj Urs for the welfare of Backward Classes and farmers in particular and the State in general.
Dalita Sangharsha Samiti (DSS) senior leader Harihara Anandaswamy inaugurated the programme. Member of Jilla Safai Karamchari Jagriti Samiti K. Nanjappa Basavanagudi, member of Jilla Parishishta Jati mattu Pangadagala Jagriti Samiti H.B. Divakar, DSS District Convenor Devendra K.M. Wadi and others were present.
Participants later held a meeting and came to a decision to urge the State Government to implement various recommendations mentioned in the Justice H.N. Nagamohan Das Commission Report.
