Mysore/Mysuru: Chain-snatchers, who usually target elderly lonely women, targeted an elderly man, who was watering the garden and snatched his gold chain at Bannimantap early this morning.

The victim is 70-year-old Tukaram, a retired KSRTC employee and a resident of Bannimantap ‘C’ Layout, near Bhuvaneshwari Kalyana Mantap.

Tukaram, who had grown flower plants in front of his house, was plucking the flowers after watering the garden at about 6 am, when a miscreant, who came on foot, snatched his gold chain weighing 20 grams and fled from the spot. Narasimharaja (NR) Inspector Shekar and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and are investigating.
